This room was the first ever built for Immersive Sound in Digital Cinema, installed with an AuroMax 20.1 system that became part of the SMPTE Standard for Digital Sound systems a decade later. It reproduces Auro-3D up to 20.1 channels and every home configuration of Dolby Atmos, up to 9.1.6.
Film history was made here with the Auro-3D mix of Red Tails for George Lucas, the first movie ever released in Immersive Sound for Digital Cinema.
Today the room runs on an Apple Mac Studio M4 Pro, Avid MTRX II, and ProTools Ultimate, controlled through 2x Avid S1 surfaces. One push of a button switches between 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos, and Auro-3D, discrete or array. The ultimate environment for in-the-box mixing, from Digital Cinema to Home Cinema.
